AD Search Delayed

Dartmouth Press Release:
HANOVER, N.H. -- The search for Dartmouth College's next Director of Athletics
and Recreation will begin in the late spring or early summer, Acting Dean of the
College Sylvia Spears announced today.

The search was scheduled to start this winter, but Spears and President Jim Yong
Kim -- with input from colleagues in athletics, including alumni -- decided that
shifting the time frame would produce a stronger pool of candidates. "A clearer
understanding of the impact of upcoming strategic budget decisions, campus-wide,
will help the college attract the best candidates for the position," said Spears.

Joseph BelBruno, Professor of Chemistry and faculty advisor for the Dartmouth
football team, will serve as the chair of the search committee, which has yet
to be finalized. The interview process will include broad representation from
the community, as is typical for a process of this magnitude.

Robert A. (Bob) Ceplikas '78 will continue to serve as the Acting Athletics Director
until the search is completed.
Discuss among yourselves.
