Here We Go

The view from across the road on this beautiful spring morning shows ski trails on far-away Killington rising out of the clouds. It's a little over a 45-mile drive from here to the lodge at Killington, but only 30 miles or so as the crow flies according to infoplease.com. (double click picture to supersize)

Memorial Field was almost clear of snow yesterday afternoon and today's 45-degree temperature and strong sun should finish the job just in time for the start of spring ball later today. Here's how it looked yesterday afternoon.

And finally, some lucky (?) soul out there is the new owner of a "Dartmouth College Bud Plome Figure Football Puzzle" from the 1950's. The eBay auction description for the piece, which sold for $14.29:
This is a vintage chalk figure of a Dartmouth College fan. It is (C) Bud Plome. The figure is about 5 1/4" tall. It has a chip on the finish to his nose and a few chips on the edges of his shoes. He comes with a football keychain puzzle as he was found with.
