Ground Patrol

Following up on last week's The Sports Network story on the top running backs in FCS next fall, here are the top 10 rushers in the NCAA last year with two who will face each other in Hanover highlighted:

Former Dartmouth assistant Kevin Kelly's Georgetown team has posted its list of recruits and at least one loyal visitor to this electronic precinct will grimace watching the video highlights of fellow Nutmeg Stater Kevin Macari, who he hoped would end up wearing green.

Each day I cruise my usual haunts and come across the following page that leaves me saying something along the lines of, "duh."

Two random thoughts.

First, the story around Northern New England is that black flies show up at Mother's Day and disappear around Father's Day. I meant to write this last week but they were absolutely on time this year, the nasty little buggers.

Second, weather forecasting has gotten so good (for the most part) that when you see a forecast like the one we have for the next week it's really, really depressing. You know it's pretty much going to unfold the way they predict and it ain't pretty. Here's a glimpse at what's ahead, courtesy of weather.com:
