From
Dartmouth sports publicity:
Senior running back Nick Schwieger (Norton, Mass.), Dartmouth’s all-time leading rusher, today was named the Ivy League Co-Offensive Player of the Week, as well as the College Football Performance Awards FCS National Running Back Performer of the Week, for his record-setting performance against Cornell on Saturday. The Bishop Feehan product reclaimed his Big Green record by rushing for 257 yards against the Big Red in a 33-24 victory, surpassing 1,000 yards for the second straight season.
And . . .
Earning honor roll status this week for the Big Green within the league were senior strong safety Joey Casey (Noblesville, Ind.), who intercepted passes on each of Cornell’s first two possessions, then broke up another pass that turned into an interception by a teammate to seal the victory in the fourth quarter, and freshman wide receiver Bo Patterson (Charleston, S.C.) who caught five passes for 79 yards, the most by a Big Green receiver all year.
The Ivy League release is
here. Ironically, Schwieger shares the player of the week honor with Mark Kachmer, the Brown running back who will be on the other side of the field from Schwieger on Saturday.
