Big Numbers In The News

A couple of reported early decision commits who put up eye-popping numbers are in the news.

In a Missouri state championship game, quarterback Thomas Militello of Mary Institute Country Day School in St. Louis was 36-for-46 for 415 yards and five touchdowns in a 56-42 loss at the Edward Jones Dome. He set the state record for most completions in a championship game and tied the mark for TD throws and pass attempts. MICDS finished 14-1. Link

Militello threw for 3,400 yards and 44 touchdowns with just eight interceptions this year. From a preview story about the title game that appeared on the St. Louis Today site:
He’s relaxed and comfortable in the pocket when the pressure would eat most players for lunch. Whether up a touchdown or down a pair with just over two minutes remaining, Militello stays on an even keel.

Tailback Kyle Bramble has been named to the Indiana Associated Press 5-A all-state team. A story in the Louisville Courier-Journal notes that Bramble led Indiana with 2,875 rushing yards and 47 touchdowns. Bramble ran for 5,648 yards at Floyd Central High School and led the state with 8.33 yards per carry. link
