Finding A Way

Dartmouth-bound receiver Daniel Gorman didn't have a ball thrown his way in his team's 44-12 win yesterday in the inaugural CHaD (Children's Hospital at Dartmouth) New Hampshire East-West High School All-Star Football Game at the University of New Hampshire but the Hanover standout with a reputation as a talented athlete showed why in about a 90-second span. Several plays after getting off a 67-yard punt the 6-foot-4 Hanover High grad (wearing No. 88) went in at cornerback, promptly picked off a pass and returned it 15 yards.
During spring ball it was feared that hard-hitting Mike Banaciski would miss his junior season at Dartmouth because of shoulder surgery, but late word is that the defensive back has been cleared to play and will have his injury addressed after the season. Banaciski is Dartmouth's second-leading returning tackler after making 44 stops, breaking up four passes and registering 1.5 tackles for loss last fall.
The Buddy Teevens Football Camp is under way on the Dartmouth campus.
Former Dartmouth quarterback Josh Cohen's 6-foot-10 younger brother, Jake, has been tapped as one of 10 Hidden Gems for the 2012-13 season for his play with the Davidson basketball team.
