Tracking The Trials

Catching up on a few track odds and ends, former defensive tackle and two-time Olympic silver medalist Adam Nelson came up short in his bid to return to the Olympics at the U.S. Trials in Oregon over the weekend. From a story about his disappointment:

Two-time Olympic shot put runner-up and former world champion Adam Nelson broke down in tears after a shocking early exit on Saturday from the US Olympic Trials, failing to reach the final.

Former junior varsity quarterback Sean Furey advanced to tonight's Olympic Trials finals in the javelin. He'll throw at 9 tonight. The Eagle-Tribune has a story about his quest.

Recent Dartmouth graduate Alexi Pappas runs today in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and Abbey D'Agostino '14 runs today in the 5,000 at the Trials.

There's a new Inside Yale Football website that channels the high-tech site Cornell debuted a year or so ago (link). If you are of a certain age it might be a little glitzy for you but it will probably resonate with high school kids starting to think about colleges.

Had a good time at the PGA Tour event in Hartford, Conn., yesterday with Mrs. BGA and That Certain Nittany Lion who played on the Hanover High state championship golf team last fall. Long, long day though ;-)
