The new Green Alert Premium site is now online. It was a bit of a thrash getting everything working but we're finally ready to go.
Among the improvements:
• The web address is a lot easier to remember than the work-around used last year. It's www.greenalertfootball.com
• The navigation is much more intuitive. When you sign in you will be taken to the home page, which will feature a link for each week of the preseason and season. Click on the week of choice and you will see the headline and "lede" for each of that week's stories. Just click on the continue reading link at the end of the story when you find the one you want to read.
• The signup procedure has been trimmed down so that all you need to fill out is first name, last name and email address before picking a Username and Password. Because the database is being rebuilt, even returning subscribers need to fill out the form but feel free to choose the same Username and Password you had in the past if you would like.
• There is also a "forgot password" functionality that will allow you to recover both your username and password automatically.
Once again, there are several subscription packages and payment may be made with PayPal or by check. The latter is preferred because of the charges incurred receiving online payments.
Daily stories on BGA Premium will begin in mid-August with opponent previews. Once practices begin there will be same-night newspaper-length stories after every session. During the season there will be coverage of every practice, a preview on Friday, a game story and sidebar on Saturday after the game, and a follow on Sunday whether the Big Green is home or away. And don't forget the always popular Optimist-Pessimist column will run on Mondays.
