Back At It

Dartmouth coach Buddy Teevens offers instruction
to a group of players during Wednesday's opening
day of practice on Memorial Field.
Back in the mid-'90s when he was a young assistant football coach at Dartmouth I did a story on Pete Lembo. It was a little unusual to sit and interview an assistant that way, but there was something about Pete that led me to think he was going places.

Lembo joked then that he was the answer to a great trivia question. When Dikembe Mutombo was roaming the paint for Georgetown, who was the Hoyas' other center? The answer, of course, was Lembo, center on the Georgetown football team.

These days no one is laughing at Lembo. In fact, they are cheering for him as a coach who resurrected programs at Lehigh and at Elon before taking the jump to the BCS level and doing the same thing at Ball State. The Associated Press has a story about him.
I don't know who this fellow is and there's not much detail in what he writes but if you are desperate for something to read, a contributor to the Bleacher Report has an outlook for Dartmouth that includes this:
Considering that Princeton will be more mature next season, it looks like Dartmouth and Princeton will be playing for sixth place at the end of the season. Look for Dartmouth to come out on top.
The same contributor has "previews" of Brown, ColumbiaCornell, HarvardPenn, Princeton and Yale. Caveat emptor.
Still another former Ivy League player has enjoyed an interesting experience playing football in Europe.   Click here to read about John Pagliaro Jr.'s time in Italy.

A couple of reminders. First, everyone who signs up for Green Alert this year has to fill out a new log-in form. The database from the old site was corrupted and abandoned (sounds scary, huh?) so to access the new site you need to sign up again.

Also, if you sign up and can't get in it probably means you are having a problem with capitalization or putting spaces in your password/username. If that's the case, try the "lost password" function.
