Want to get a sneak peek at what's ahead on Sept. 15 when the Big Green opens against Butler on Memorial Field? There are some clips and interviews from the first Bulldog scrimmage of their preseason here:
Speaking of Butler, your preview of the Bulldogs is on Green Alert Premium today. Tomorrow: Holy Cross. The series finishes Friday with a look at Sacred Heart.
Here's what happens when you don't have an official mascot: Yahoo has a list of the top 25 most unique mascots in the land and coming in at, oh, No. 1 is Keggy, Dartmouth's unofficial mascot. (Thanks for the link.)
And finally, this is post No. 3,500 on the Green Alert blog if you can believe it. This blog began as a "loss leader" to tease people into subscribing to the premium site, but it long ago outlived that usefulness. More than a few people have suggested – strongly in some cases – that I put it behind the password but (sadly for me ;-) there's a significant disparity in the number of visitors to the blog and to the premium site. I just figure if I'm going to spend time at the keyboard pulling this thing together each morning it ought to reach the widest audience, so enjoy!
