Harvard 45, Cornell 13
Someone who should know has suggested Harvard might be one of the best Ivy League teams since the '70 Dartmouth squad. Colton Chapple might actually knock Cornell's Jeff Mathews down to second-team All-Ivy if this continues.
Princeton 35, Lafayette 14
Whoa Pardner. (Little play on words there, folks.) Either Lafayette isn't as good as billed or Princeton is better. It didn't help that Lafayette's starting QB didn't play.
William & Mary 34, Penn 28
Billy Ragone is turning into a passing machine (21-of-35 for 207 yards and two TDs) and Penn outgained the Tribe, but couldn't quite overcome a 24-7 halftime deficit.
Brown 17, Rhode Island 7
Top running back Spiro Theodosi left the game with an injury after one carry and Brown QB Patrick Donnelly threw for just 125 yards and still the Bears kept the Rams winless.
Lehigh 35, Columbia 14
The Lions' freefall after a season-opening win continued although they do get something of a pass facing 6-0 and nationally ranked Lehigh in Bethlehem. QB Sean Brackett continues to struggle.
Wagner 12, Sacred Heart 3
The Pioneers managed just 67 yards passing and 214 total yards in a bumpy tuneup for their visit to Hanover.
Holy Cross 13, Bucknell 6
The teams combined for just 83 rushing yards but Holy Cross got its first win with Steve Elder returning from injury and taking over at quarterback. After surrendering 49 points in a half at Harvard last week the Crusaders held the Bison scoreless for three quarters before allowing a couple of field goals in the fourth.
Butler 56, Valparaiso 17
Ranked as the most lowly team in the FCS, Valpo showed why by giving up 42 first-half points.
