Spring Things

The Nat Thompson Trail is much steeper than it looks here.
The view from Moose Mountain peak on an absolutely gorgeous Tuesday

Weather permitting Dartmouth baseball will be opening the home season down in the valley this afternoon against Siena. On Moose Mountain there's still plenty of snow as a hike up to the peak yesterday proved. (I guess it's a bit of an oxymoron that from up here the College on the Hill is down in the valley ;-)

Ivy League and opponent rosters for the 2013 football season are starting to be updated, albeit without the incoming freshmen in the case of the Ivies.

Columbia's 2013 roster (sans the freshmen and a high profile anticipated transfer) has been posted. Leading off the bios for each player are some pretty candid comments from coach Pete Mangurian.

Mangurian also writes his own Columbia football blog and his comments there are every bit as straightforward. From his latest entry:
As I mentioned when I arrived at Columbia, we will no longer address the issues of the past.  This program is one year old. . . .
I believe that we will win, and soon. There is no “four-year plan”, there is a “win every game, every year, plan” that is reevaluated and refined before during and after every season.

The 2013 Penn roster doesn't show up on the roster link but can be found in the 2013 spring prospectus PDF.
