Showtime

last night at the Iron Horse.
Mrs. BGA and I sat with former football team mom/administrative assistant Michele Robinson and her family to watch Gordy Quist, Trevor Nealon and The Band of Heathens last night at the Iron Horse in Northampton, Mass. The Heathens will be playing in Boston tonight, in Fairfield, Conn., tomorrow and in New York City on Tuesday. If you get a chance, the former Big Green football players put on one heckuva show. Find their tour schedule here.

Both Gordy and Trevor told me last night they would jump at the chance to bring their Austin, Texas-based band to Hanover to do a concert at Dartmouth, and after hearing them again last night I can't help but believe they would be a huge hit. As noted in this space last month, TBoH was named No. 1 in the nation's ""Top 50 Bands Right Now!" by Alternate Root Magazine.

I've posted a few Heathens videos here over the years and here's another from their appearance on Austin City Limits:

A reminder that Dartmouth baseball will be televised on Fox College Sports from Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park Sunday at noon in a rematch of last year's Ivy League championship series participants. Dartmouth (15-3, 2-2 Ivy League) opens a big home weekend today with a doubleheader against Princeton.
Cornell has kicked off spring football and the school website reports new coach David Archer will be trying to achieve more balance between the run and pass and also overseeing a shift from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense.
