Butler's game notes have been posted here. Three quick notes from Butler:
1) Dartmouth is the first Ivy League football team to play at Butler
2) The Bulldogs have won seven consecutive home games
3) In last year's 35-7 lost, Butler outgained Dartmouth, 416 yards to 358 yards
Supposedly the Butler game can be seen at this link. Scroll down and click on Sept. 21 video. The streaming service is free ;-)
Several readers with local knowledge have written in to suggest visitors to Indianapolis for the game consider legendary St. Elmo Steak House for a meal while they are in town. That Certain BGA Brother, who lives a couple of hours south of Indy, shared a reminder to this out-of-towner that it's not St. Elmo's Fire ;-)
From The Sports Network:
With some series between Ivy League (non-scholarship) and Patriot League (now scholarship) teams in jeopardy, it makes sense for non-scholarship PFL schools to seek out more matchups with Ivy opposition. It makes matchups like Harvard-San Diego and Dartmouth-Butler on Saturday all the more noticeable. The two Ivy schools won last year's meetings, but in the return games, San Diego brings in a 13-game home winning streak and Butler a seven- game home winning streak.
TSN's picks:

  • Dartmouth over Butler
  • Fordham over Columbia
  • Bucknell over Cornell
  • Harvard over San Diego
  • Penn over Lafayette
  • Lehigh over Princeton
  • Colgate over Yale
  • Holy Cross over Monmouth

The official Ivy League release on the full slate of conference games can be found here.
No surprise that the Columbia two-deep lists Stanford transfer Brett Nottingham as starting quarterback. The Lions have six freshmen on the second line of the offensive depth chart and one on the defensive side. Four of the five backup offensive linemen are freshmen.
The Chicago Sun-Times catches up with former Dartmouth assistant Chris Wilkerson, now head coach at the University of Chicago, now 2-0. Wilk told the paper:
"For us, the timing of this whole change with coach (Dick) Maloney retiring and me coming on board has been pretty unique. But the kids have been really resilient and adjusted very well in the short period of time that we’ve had to spend together.”
Like poor Charlie Brown, the Princeton sprint (nee lightweight) football team just keeps on trying after 87 consecutive losses spanning 14 years. The Daily Princetonian has a story.
