The first clue came with a congratulatory Tweet. Then came the news itself from 6-foot-5, 305-pound lineman Tanner Aiono of San Diego's Francis Parker High School that he had chosen Dartmouth.
But look closely at that tag. It says Dartmouth '20 because as his Instagram page indicates (with photos of him posing with Coach Buddy Teevens, at the entrance to the locker room, and of the snow-covered Dartmouth Green), he plans to take a two-year Mormon mission before coming to Hanover.

Aiono was a member of the Coastal League first-team offense per U-T San Diego and played in the Under Armour All-American Polynesian Bowl. Also a weight man in track, he was credited with 31 tackles on defense last fall, including three for a loss per MaxPreps.
