Well, Hello

Nola.com, the Internet arm of the daily New Orleans Times-Picayune is reporting that ±6-foot-1, ±300-pound Davaron Stockman of East St. John HS has chosen Dartmouth. Find the story here.

Reported as a defensive tackle but probably capable of playing on either side of the line, Stockman tells Nola, "“I liked the campus. I liked the people. It felt like a family atmosphere.”

Brown was another Ivy League suitor. Find his Hudl page here.

Nola had a feature story about a player nicknamed Big Panda in early November. If you read the touching story about the difficulties he has faced at a young age it will be easy to cheer him on come next fall.

Stockman becomes the second confirmed recruit from Louisiana in this year's class. And don't be surprised if there's another before all is said and done as NFL veteran and Dartmouth wide receiver coach Cortez Hankton recruits his native state, one that head coach Buddy Teevens also knows well from his days as head coach at Tulane.

Head coach Kevin Kelly is leaving Georgetown to become defensive coordinator at Ball State under Pete Lembo. This story in the Washington Post reminds us that the two first met when they were part of the very accomplished John Lyons staff at Dartmouth in 1995.
