Big Game Is Big News

How big is today's game? There is a Harvard-Dartmouth story stripped across the top of page one of the local daily today ;-)

I'd hoped to DVR the Dartmouth-Harvard game today but our Dish TV guide lists the game on the station CSNBA (Comcast SportsNet Bay Area?) and then reports it is not available in our area. It is not listed on our system as being replayed Sunday, either. Frustrating.
I did get a chance to see a little bit of one former Dartmouth player and listen to another last night. Flipping through the stations I saw that the Boston Brawlers FXFL team was playing at Harvard Stadium and thought to see if Garrett Waggoner was on the field. It took about a minute for me to recognize Jay Fiedler's voice as the color commentator. (Interestingly, former Dartmouth QB Brian Mann will be doing color on today's Dartmouth-Harvard game.)

Waggoner did not get on the field defensively while I was watching, but he did return a kickoff. Unfortunately, the graphic slapped up on the screen misspelled his name the same way the Brawlers' website (f you can call it that) has all season: Waggoneer. Worse yet, the announcers called him that. Wonder if his new nickname is Jeep?

Garrett Waggoneer?
Jay Fiedler heads over to say hi to Waggoner in a shot taken from the Brawlers' Twitter.

It must be photo day here at the BGA daily because here are three pix from last week's game at Columbia where Dartmouth's Jacob Flores and brother Charlie of Columbia faced off. (The first was shared with me – thanks – and the other two I shot.)
