How Dartmouth's opponents fared yesterday . . .
Princeton 38, Cornell 27
Recap and stats
The honors go to the Connors in the Tigers' win over the Big Red. Connor Michelsen completed 23-of-33 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns with Connor Kelley catching 13 balls for 147 yards and two touchdowns as Princeton (4-3, 3-1 Ivy) outlasted a surprisingly feisty Cornell (0-7, 0-4). Sophomore quarterback Robert Sanborn completed 23-of-40 throws for 315 yards and two touchdowns and senior receiver Lucas Shapiro caught 12 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns as the Big Red easily topped its previous high of 16 points this fall. Down 11 points after a TD with 4:46 remaining, Cornell recovered an onside kick but the drive stalled and Princeton ran out the clock.
Yale 27, Columbia 7
Recap and stats
Candler Rich rushed for 202 yards and Tyler Varga for 106 yards and two touchdowns as Yale (6-1, 3-1 Ivy) handed Columbia (0-7, 0-4) its 18th consecutive loss. The Bulldogs benefited from four interceptions of Lions quarterback Trevor McDonagh, who completed just 19-of-47 passes. The Bulldogs managed just two touchdowns but kicked four field goals. Yale had almost 14 minutes of extra possession time against Columbia, which has topped seven points just once this fall. Yale managed 428 yards of total offense in the first half on a rainy and windy day in New York City. The Elis finished with 586 yards.
Brown 21, Penn 13
Recap and stats
Who the heck is Seth Rosenbauer? That's the question everyone else in the Ivy League might be asking after the 6-foot-5, 240-pound junior quarterback with one incompletion to his name this fall stepped in at running back and exploded for 206 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries to help Brown (4-3, 2-2 Ivy) to a win over struggling Penn (1-6, 1-3 Ivy). Rosenbauer, who had just 82 yard on 18 carries coming into the game, helped deal the Quakers their 10th loss in 11 games, a stretch interrupted only by a win against Columbia. Brown had a 21-7 lead until Penn scored with 27 seconds left, but the Bears recovered the onside kick to seal their third win over the Quakers in four years.
New Hampshire 49, Albany 24
Recap and stats
Albany (6-3, 2-3 CAA) got three touchdown passes in a span of three minutes of the fourth quarter to make the score more respectable after No. 2 UNH (7-1, 5-0 CAA) built a 42-3 lead through three periods. RJ Harris caught two TD throws and ran for another score and the Wildcats picked off three passes while holding the Great Danes to 311 total yards. Albany's big fourth quarter was aided by UNH fumbling away consecutive kickoffs.
Bryant 31, Central Connecticut State 3
Recap and stats
The season-opening win at 2013 national finalist Towson has faded far into the background for Central Connecticut State (2-7, 0-4 NEC), which has won just once in eight games since. After surrendering a field goal early in the second quarter the Bulldogs (7-1, 3-0 NEC) ran off the next 31 points. In a statistical anomaly, Bryant rushed for 352 yards and an 8.2-yard average but converted just 1-of-12 first downs. Much of the game was played in a driving rainstorm.
