The Ivy League Heisman (Sort Of)

To watch a Dalyn Williams highlight video CLICK HERE.
Dartmouth quarterback Dalyn Williams is in New York City today for the presentation of the Bushnell Cup as the outstanding offensive player in the Ivy League. The Big Green junior is one of two finalists for the award along with Yale tailback Tyler Varga. Harvard's Zach Hodges and Princeton's Mike Zeuli are the finalists for the defensive Bushnell Cup.

The announcement of the winners will be "part of the festivities surrounding the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Annual Awards Dinner. The presentation will be shown live and free of charge on The Ivy League Digital Network (ILDN)."

CLICK HERE to watch the presentation. Oops. The link provided by the Ivy League last week required a subscription. Too bad. Just found another link that actually works HERE.
Speaking of the Heisman, I've been a voter for a long time and cast my ballot yesterday but I'm prohibited from sharing my vote until after the ceremony ;-)

The New Hampshire-Chattanooga FCS playoff game Saturday will kick off at 8 p.m., which means we probably will not be going. A two-hour ride home after a game that late wouldn't be any fun.
We will be going to the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium, a bowl I've always thought was ridiculous. But with three generations of Penn Staters in the family this is an unheard of (for us, at least) opportunity to make a day trip to a bowl game, so we'll bundle up and head on down to watch the Nittany Lions take on Boston College a couple of days after Christmas. It will be interesting to find out who That Certain Father of Mrs. BGA is rooting for given that he has degrees from both Boston College and Penn State ;-)
Upper Valley native Chris Lincoln, author of Playing the Game, Inside Athletic Recruiting in the Ivy League (LINK) and a past contributor to the Big Green Alert Daily, is offering his services to would-be college athletes and their families through his Athletic Hook* College Counseling initiative. If you know of someone who could use help sorting through the recruiting process it's worth taking a look at what Chris has to offer.

From the Athletic Hook* website:
A graduate of Middlebury College, where he played varsity soccer and hockey and was a Dean’s List student, Chris uses his inside knowledge to help talented student-athletes manage and win the athletic recruiting game at Ivy League, NESCAC and other top colleges and universities.
Chris also provides guidance for navigating the independent school search and athletic recruiting process, whether it is for a post-grad year, repeat junior year or longer period.
Over the years Chris has worked with athletes who have been recruited by Bates, Bowdoin, Colby, Connecticut College, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Haverford, Hobart, Holy Cross, Johns Hopkins, Middlebury, Princeton, Saint Lawrence, Stanford, Stevens Institute of Technology, Skidmore, Trinity, Tufts, Union, Williams, Wesleyan, West Point, and Yale.
Check out Chris' website HERE.

Editor's Note: Chris is a friend who provided much-appreciated advice and guidance when we were in the college admission process.
