Attention!

It's been an open secret for a while but now it's gone public.

From FBschedules.com (LINK):
Back in 2013, Army signed a contract to host Dartmouth at Michie Stadium on Sept. 16, 2017. The game was later pushed back to Sept. 24, 2022.
The same site lists a three-game series between Army and Bucknell starting Oct. 17 and an Army-
Colgate game in 2018.

I was at the last Dartmouth game at Army on Sept. 24, 1983 when the Black Knights of the Hudson scrambled back for a 13-12 win.

Craig Saltzgaber kicked field goals of 27, 32, 32 and 37 yards in the first half to help the Big Green take a 12-0 lead before a crowd for 36,637. Army finally got on the board with a 45-yard field goal on the final play of the first half. The Cadets pulled to within 12-10 on a seven-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter, and won the game on a 34-yard field goal with 11:33 remaining.

Dartmouth had 167 yards of total offense in the first half but minus-one yard of offense in the second.

Green Alert Take: There is nothing like a game at Michie Stadium in the fall. Fingers crossed that this one eventually comes about.
Speaking of Dartmouth football and the Army, did you know that a character from the book and movie (and later the popular TV show) M.A.S.H. played for the Big Green?

From Wikipedia:
In the book and the film, Trapper John is a graduate of Dartmouth College (having played quarterback on the school's football team) and serves as thoracic surgeon and eventually Chief Surgeon of the 4077th.
There's a shelter on the Appalachian Trail not far from here named the Trapper John Shelter. Don't know if there's a connection.
Hiking the AT behind our house here on Moose Mountain yesterday I met thru-hikers from Australia, Alabama, Arkansas, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, Tennessee and a few other states I've forgotten. Given the number of hikers in town these days we're leaving a little crispy cold "trail magic" today in a big, red cooler for the next wave coming through.
