What Was And Might Have Been

What was . . .

Dartmouth football continues its Top 20 plays from last year with Troy Donahue's interception late in the first half of the win over Yale:

What might have been . . .

NBC's Notre Dame coverage writes about Jerry Tillery, the 6-foot-7, 300-plus defensive tackle who took a recruiting trip to Dartmouth before deciding to enroll in South Bend last January. Here's one of the points the story makes about Tillery, who ran with the Fighting Irish first team as an early enrollee in spring ball (LINK):
The head on Tillery’s shoulders is perhaps the biggest asset the freshman has. And that’s saying quite a bit when you’re already built like Albert Haynesworth.
From Allen Lessels' UNH Insider (LINK):
The football team opener is three weeks away, at San Jose State on Thursday, Sept. 3. Game time is 10 p.m. Eastern time. The final scrimmage before the opening game is set for Monday, Aug. 24 at 12:30 p.m.
Green Alert Take: New Hampshire has its final scrimmage on a Monday. Dartmouth reports on that Wednesday.
Speaking of UNH, there's a live webcam tracking construction of its new stadium. Nothing much to see until the steel arrives next week, but you can check out the webcam HERE.
Former Dartmouth and Cincinnati Bengals great Reggie Williams is a voter in the Super 16 poll conducted by the Football Writers Association of America in conjunction with the National Football Foundation. There are 40 voters and Williams was one of just two not to vote Ohio State to the top spot. (LINK)

Find the full poll HERE.

For what it's worth, Reggie earned a few brownie points in the eyes of Penn State fans by not voting Ohio State No. 1 and being the only voter to have the Nittany Lions on his ballot, putting them 16th ;-)
A reminder that opponent previews begin on BGA Premium Sunday with a new one every day until the start of practice on Aug. 26. There will be at least one full story posted on the BGA Premium site seven days a week from Sunday until Nov. 23. For more information on the site, CLICK HERE and then poke around.
