Shhhhhh

Dartmouth and Harvard scrimmaged yesterday on Memorial Field. Apologies for not writing anything, but rules are rules. I will say one thing that won't get me in trouble: It was pretty entertaining ;-)

The plan is to get some reaction from Dartmouth coach Buddy Teevens for tonight's BGA Premium.

A regular poster on the Ivy League message board tossed up a few pretty general thoughts and that brought a few reactions HERE.

Lest you think it's just Dartmouth-Harvard that want to keep things hush-hush, the Yale Blue-White scrimmage is closed to the public (again allowing parents in). LINK
The local Valley News has a lengthy and detailed look at Dartmouth's retooled offensive line. Your access might be limited depending on how many times you've visited, but give it a try HERE.
The Dartmouth school paper has a story about members of the freshman class arriving on campus and getting to work practicing even before their classmates arrive for their famed freshman trips. Wide receiver Dylan Mellor is quoted. Find the story HERE.
The wise guys have spoken.

Week One Dartmouth opponent Georgetown is a 7.5 point favorite over Marist. The Hoyas were 8 point underdogs at Saint Francis (Pa.) last week and dropped a 48-20 decision in Loretto. That Georgetown is more than a touchdown favorite over Marist is a bit of a surprise given that the Red Foxes put up a pretty good fight last week at Bucknell, one of the Patriot League favorites. Marist was down just 3-0 at the half before losing, 17-0.

Sacred Heart, which will provide the opposition for Dartmouth's home opener, plays its second overmatched opponent in as many weeks when it travels to Valparaiso tomorrow. The Pioneers are listed as 26.5 point favorites this morning. They were 29.5 point favorites over DII St. Anselm last week and went on to win, 43-19.

Week 5 foe Central Connecticut is a 17-point underdog to Stony Brook of the powerhouse CAA. The Blue Devils were 3 point underdogs to Lehigh last week and came up on the short end of a 20-14 score.
The Ivy League website has posted a story about the conference having 10 players on active NFL rosters at the start of the season, two more players on practice squads, and another couple on reserved/injured lists. Find the story HERE.
