2014 Game To Remember

Trailing unbeaten Yale, 21-7, early in the second quarter, Dartmouth rallied to take a the lead on a touchdown with 2:20 remaining and then forced a Yale four-and-out at the Big Green 37 to lock up a win that spoiled the 100th anniversary of the Yale Bowl.

Ryan McManus caught 12 passes for 188 yards and one touchdown and returned a punt 60 yards for a game-changing touchdown after the Bulldogs had driven for TDs on their first three possessions.

McManus’ 30-yard reception with 2:04 remaining in the third period gave Dartmouth its first lead, 28-24 but Yale answered right back with a touchdown that made it 31-28.

After Alex Gakenheimer knotted the score with a 35-yard field goal midway through the fourth period, Dalyn Williams drove Dartmouth 63 yards in 11 plays, the last a two-yard run with 2:20 left for the winning margin. The key play of the drive was a 40-yard completion to McManus on third-and-12 from the Dartmouth 35.
