Green Alert Take: While it's obviously an intriguing idea that a lot of us have thought about, it is way too early to know what is going to happen with the game. That said, from what I've heard there is somewhere between slim and no chance it will be played at Memorial Field, and at this point is still expected to be played in Florida.
•Speaking of Stetson, it was Dartmouth's only nonconference opponent to lose yesterday.
The Hatters dropped to 0-2 with a 38-17 loss at Marist. A Stetson field goal in the fourth quarter tied the score at 21 before the Red Foxes (1-1) ran off the final 21 points. Marist racked up 448 yards of total offense while holding the Hatters to 255. For perspective, Marist dropped its opener to Bucknell, 45-6.
And speaking of Bucknell, the homestanding Bison were held to 214 yards of total offense in a 20-0 loss to Dartmouth Week Two opponent Holy Cross (1-1). The Crusaders recovered three fumbles and picked off a pass while recording the shutout. Holy Cross, which scared FBS member Connecticut before losing, 27-20, plays host to New Hampshire Saturday.
(And speaking of UNH, it was up to its old tricks Saturday with another win over an FBS member, defeating Georgia Southern, 22-12.)
Finally, Sacred Heart improved to 2-0 with a 38-24 win at Lafayette. The Pioneers trailed the Leopards (0-2) after one quarter, 10-0, before roaring back on the strength of 506 yards of total offense. Kevin Duke, who has stepped in for a four-year starter at quarterback, had his second strong game in a row, completing 19-of-25 passes for 219 yards and running for another 73 yards.
