It's A Little Brisk ;-)

How cold was it here on Moose Mountain last night? I can't tell you because our fancy remote weather station gave up the ghost at 16.9 below.

What I can tell you is that the recorded low in Lebanon was 24 degrees below zero. (And that's not wind chill.) What I can also tell you is that Mrs. BGA's never-fail Honda CRV failed to start this morning despite spending the night in the garage and turned up its nose at a valiant jumping effort by my car. And That Certain Nittany Lion 16's car, which had to sleep outside, wouldn't start and couldn't be jumped because the hood was frozen shut and would not budge.

The low temperatures for the past six days: -24, -22, -22, -18, -20, -18, and the TV people said our weather is supposed to get bad at week's end ;-) Baby, it's cold outside.
Incoming Dartmouth running back Zach Bair of Red Bank Catholic High School (NJ) was selected to the first Two River Times All-Area Football Team. From a photo caption on the Two River website:
Red Bank Catholic’s Zack Bair ran for 1,090 yards and 15 TD’s which is remarkable considering that he suffered a season- ending broken foot in the Caseys 7th game of the season. Bair is set to play Ivy League football at Dartmouth.

The Valley News' Tris Wykes has a very nice look at the life of Fred Kelley, the longtime head trainer at Dartmouth who died last spring. If you knew Fred you don't want to miss this one.  (LINK)
And a little more Don Brown HERE. Skip the story and watch the video at the end.
And Frank Di Leo, whose big brother Rocco is a defensive lineman at Dartmouth, continues getting his five minutes (and then some) of fame with Penn State's Fiesta Bowl coverage. (LINK)
