Good Choice

On its Fourth of July post Hero Sports noted that it was 51 days until the first FCS college football game of the year. As part of its annual countdown the site posted this (LINK):

Here's the text that was included in the posting:

51: JACK TRAYNOR, LB (SR.) -- DARTMOUTH
Traynor has been one of the best linebackers in the Ivy League these last two seasons. He got his fifth year of eligibility for Dartmouth and expects to have his best year yet.
Traynor is a back-to-back unanimous All-Ivy League First Team performer. In 2017, he finished second in the Ivy League with 98 total tackles. Despite missing the final two games last year, Traynor still finished second on the team and eighth in the conference with 56 tackles as the Big Green finished 9-1.
To go along with his 195 career tackles, Traynor adds 11.5 tackles for loss and nine passes defended. He's looked at as a top defensive player in the Ivy League and is set for a tremendous senior season.
To date, one Yale, one Harvard, one Princeton and two Colgate players have appeared in the countdown.  Gotta believe the Big Green has a chance to be represented again 25 days from today, right?

Enjoyed a beautiful Fourth of July sunrise yesterday at Lake Groton in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Click the photo to enlarge it.
