Recruiting classes for Ivy League teams are starting to trickle out. Three Ivy-bound players made a list of the top 30 FCS recruits in the nation as compiled by the Bluebloods FCS site. The list was accompanied by this explanation:

Utilizing the On3 Sports Composite Rankings, which compiles rating from all four of the major recruiting outlets (ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals, & On3), we take a look at the Top-30 prospects who signed with FCS football programs in the class of 2023.

Here are the Ivy recruits who made that Top-30 national listing, as well as the research provided by The Bluebloods (LINK):

3. Barrett Eddlemon (Princeton)
Position: Interior Offensive Line
Star Ranking: 3-Star
Positional Ranking: No. 77
On3 Composite: No. 806

5. Ryan Mooney (Harvard)
Position: ATH
Star Ranking: 3-Star
Positional Ranking: No. 39
On3 Composite: No. 1015

22. Nnamdi Udeogu (Princeton)
Position: EDGE
Star Ranking: 3-Star
Positional Ranking: No. 112
247Sports Composite: No. 1399

Green Alert Take: A word of caution. Hard to forget the wide receiver chosen as the nation's top FCS recruit a few years ago who barely made a ripple in the Ivy League.

Following up on yesterday's posting of the top FCS running backs in the country that suggested Dartmouth will face two of them this fall, HERO Sports has the Big Green going up against just one this fall. That would be New Hampshire's Dylan Laube, ranked sixth by HERO in the list found HERE.

EXTRA POINT
The story in these parts is that black flies, those annoying little gnats that love to swarm unlucky hikers and campers, show up on Mother's Day and disappear on Father's Day. I'm here to tell you they arrived a few days ahead of schedule.

We're lucky at our Vermont hillside home because we usually get a good breeze that keeps the buggers away. Not so on our nearby trail. After hiking yesterday Mrs. BGA said she was going to pull out one of our mesh mosquito headnets, which are kind of annoying to hike in and look ridiculous. The black flies were that bad.

Let's just hope that since they arrived early they have their ticket to leave town punched early as well.
