A posting on the 3DownNation site covering the Canadian Football League has a list of the highest paid defensive linemen north of the border. Dartmouth grad Folarin Orimolade '17, who signed with Toronto this year after a breakout season in Calgary, is the highest paid defensive end in the league and second among all linemen. From the story (LINK):

Folarin Orimolade, Toronto Argonauts (A)

Hard money: $240,000

Maximum value: $240,000

After four seasons with the Stampeders, Orimolade turned a breakout 2022 campaign into a massive contract from Toronto in free agency. The 27-year-old took home a $100,000 signing bonus as part of his new two-year deal, which is entirely made up of hard money.

The story explains that “ 'Hard money' is a slang term used to refer to any portion of a contract that is paid even if a player is hurt. This includes salary, a signing bonus, housing money, workout bonuses, travel allowances, off-season roster bonuses, and report-and-pass bonuses."

A story on the Seahawks.com site headlined Seahawks Sign 25 Undrafted Free Agents, Six 2023 Draft Picks has this to say about wide receiver Jake Bobo, who led UCLA with 51 receptions last fall after grad transferring from Duke (LINK):

Son of Casey and Mike Bobo. Father earned three letters (1989-91) in football at Dartmouth College and served as team captain in 1991. Mother played ice hockey at Dartmouth.

EXTRA POINT
Now that the sun has reappeared our lawn and field need to be cut again. It will be the second time in a week.

I thought about keeping a list of how many times I mow our ± 6 acres this summer.

Then I thought better of it. ;-)
