EXTRA POINT
After the second day of driving up and over a mountain pass of more than 9,000 feet I’m still amazed about two things.
First, that we had the audacity three years ago to take a trip like this in a 1984 VW bus when my knowledge of tools and things mechanical tops out at having a pretty good idea of the difference between a flathead screwdriver and a Phillips head screwdriver.
And the second thing that amazes me? That we made it without breaking down.
