EXTRA POINT
A couple quick film reviews.

We saw The Boys in the Boat earlier this week and while it's a pretty good flick it pales in comparison to Daniel James Brown's wonderful and touching book.

Last night we watched Mr. Monk's Last Case. It was fun to see the cast together one more time time and Tony Shalhoub slid seamlessly back into the role of obsessive-compulsive investigator, but the movie script wasn't nearly as polished as the TV show and the twists and turns that made the show so much fun are missing.

Tickets for the matinee at the theater were $9, so with That Certain Nittany Lion '16 accompanying us we spent $27 for the film. We took out a one-month subscription to Peacock just to watch the Monk movie. That cost $5.99 and while we have the date to cancel circled on the calendar, there are some other movies of interest we might check out before pulling the plug.
