Cato's European Dream Cut Short

Defensive lineman Derham Cato '05 has been released in final cuts by the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe. Teams leave for Europe this week with the season beginning March 18. Derham played for Manchester in Arena2 last spring and has a contract offer to play Arena2 in Arkansas. Interestingly, Cato was used as a measuring stick for another player hoping to draw professional interest. ... Speaking of Arena football, the Los Angeles Avengers dropped their fifth straight as Brian Mann's successor as starting quarterback threw four touchdown passes but also two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown in a 59-34 loss to the Orlando Predators.

In case you missed it, Dartmouth men's ice hockey will be playing Yale in the second round of the ECACHL playoffs this weekend after the Bulldogs won their series over Union at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, more than six hours after the game began. The teams played five overtimes in the longest NCAA men's hockey game in history. The teams were on the ice for 141:35.
