No Argument Here

The Daily Pennsylvanian has a power ranking of sorts for the re-start of Ivy League football – whenever that happens – and has projected Dartmouth second behind Princeton and directly ahead of Harvard. (LINK)

Green Alert Take: It's easy to quibble with the rankings, and it's almost impossible to make solid predictions with the status of fifth-year seniors like Drew Estrada in question, but there's never anything wrong with being picked second. You are getting a good deal of respect b,ut don't have the same target on your back that you do when you are picked to win it all.

The SportsCasting website has a story about Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson behind the headline, Russell Wilson Will Always Cherish the Lessons His Father Taught Him Before His Tragic Death. His father, of course, was former Dartmouth standout Harry B. Wilson. (LINK)

Oh, the places you will go . . . and find Dartmouth.

After walking across the Big Four Bridge in Jeffersonville, Ind., yesterday we visited the wonderful Schimpff’s Confectionery where we spotted this framed poster for a candy made in White River Junction, Vt. By all means, if you are in the Louisville area you'll want to stop by Schimpff's, which we enjoyed thoroughly while spending just $1.70. (The people checking out ahead of Mrs. BGA spent $58 ;-) (LINK)

EXTRA POINT
After a day-and-a-half visiting my brother and his two kids in New Albany, Ind., we are headed west this morning on the second leg of our journey to Colorado. We visited a Volkswagen specialist to get the back hatch on the '84 camper freed up after some insulation slipped into the mechanism and jammed it. Problem solved and we had to force the fine folks who helped us out to charge us anything.

We'll be heading through St. Louis and we'll see where we end up.
