Celebration Time

Drtmouth held a "Senior Celebration" for Big Green student-athletes Monday on Memorial Field featuring a speech (above) from interim Athletic Director Peter Roby as well as "recreational games." From the college release (LINK):

The department awards, which are normally announced at this event, will be revealed at a future date, including the Kenneth Archibald Prize that is given to a member of the graduating class who combined all-around athletic achievement and high academic standing. The award has been handed out to at least one recipient in all but six years (mostly due to World War II) since 1910.

A quick note on an adjustment to the BGA Premium schedule for the rest of the spring:

I'd originally planned to finish the "Look at the Class of 2024" tomorrow, but that was before I realized what now passes for the Green-White scrimmage was on the schedule. That being the case, BGA Premium will have scrimmage coverage tomorrow evening and the freshman wrapup will now be on Tuesday night after the penultimate practice of the spring.

EXTRA POINT
After several weeks at the "Bus Whisperer" up on Lake Champlain, our beloved 1984 Westfalia VW pop-top camper is coming home today. Among other work we had done on it was the long-awaited installation of an auxiliary battery to allow use of the electrical systems while the bus is not running, addition of a new radio with Bluetooth and USB connections, replacement of a broken antenna, installation of brighter headlights, freeing up a balky rear hatch lock, checking all the fluids, and most importantly, (hopefully) finding and addressing whatever mechanical issues might cause a 37-year-old vehicle to break down. Thanks Noah!

It's 90 miles or so to the mechanic but after the quality work the shop did last year that allowed us to complete a 5,000-mile trip to Colorado last fall without incident, the drive to the Burlington area is a small price to pay. This photo atop the Continental Divide at North Cochetopa Pass (elevation 10,135 feet) is from the day we arrived in Colorado to visit with That Certain Dartmouth '14.
