Green-White

Dartmouth will use its 10th of 12 offseason practices today as its spring scrimmage. Check in with BGA Premium tonight for coverage. From Thursday's BGA Premium:

Although there will still be two more practices afterward, the Big Green will conduct its annual spring scrimmage Saturday morning. Teevens explained his thinking this way: "Saturday is a little bit easier in terms of classes and everything else. I want to see them be sharp mentally and with a good night's sleep and fewer distractions than on a weekday they should have a little more of a focus. We will have a late lift on Friday and they will have a chance to get to bed and then get up and go."

As long as the technology allows, the scrimmage will be streamed live for alums, parents and friends of the program via Instagram.

Teevens hopes to get in 40-45 plays for both the "ones" and the "twos," with several kickoffs (featuring just the kicker and returner) and a full punting operation. The scrimmage will be largely a game simulation although there may be some goal line-type situations set up if they don't unfold on their own.

Not that anyone should expect otherwise but, "It will be a normal 'thud' situation with no live tackling," Teevens said. "We will have to coach the officials up on that because it's a little bit of an aberration for those guys."

Spring ball will wrap up next week with one more full-uniform practice and one required "helmets only" session. Teevens anticipates Tuesday to be in helmets and concluding the spring Thursday with full equipment.

Given that the scrimmage is being held with two practices still remaining, tonight's BGA will concentrate on what happens on Memorial Field and the final look at the current freshmen will now be posted on Tuesday's BGA Premium.
