EXTRA POINT
I love to read.

When we lived on the shoulder of Moose Mountain I'd rarely go more than a couple of weeks without dropping by our village library to borrow a book or two.

In early August each year, however, I'd tell our librarian, "I'll see you after Thanksgiving."

That's what happens when football season rolls around. Going to every practice and game, writing seven days a week and making sure I meet all of my freelance deadlines, I simply don't have time to get lost in a book.

These days I do most of my reading on my Kindle and after hustling to finish a Baldacci yesterday I don't expect to be downloading another book until Nov. 21 or so.

It's a little early in the cycle for me to give up reading for pleasure but That Certain Dartmouth '14 is coming home for two weeks at the start of August and to have as much time to spend visiting, exploring and hiking with her I'm pushing my schedule up and already starting to dig into BGA opponent previews and more, hence the charts above.
