The Hawk Eye, the (Carrollton, Texas) Hebron High School newspaper, has a story about Dartmouth-bound defensive end  Joe Onuwabhagbe. From the story (LINK):

“Dartmouth was the first school to send me an offer, which was important because they took a chance (on) me,” Onuwabhagbe said. “To get a football offer was something that I’ve worked toward for so long. Having it be Dartmouth was just like a cherry on top of everything — it took me a couple days to process it. (The recruitment) was a crazy experience.”

EXTRA POINT
I hope Mrs. BGA doesn't take this the wrong way.

I miss my dog.

Because my self-imposed BGA Premium deadline means I head straight to my office to write after getting home from late afternoon football practices, Mrs. BGA and I almost never eat dinner together during the week. Truth be told, at this time of the year it can seem as if I'm almost always busy working when we are here together.

That being the case, Mrs. BGA is spending a couple of quality days at our friends' lake house while they are away. She brought Griff the Wonder Dog to the lake with her.

Here's the thing.

While Mrs. BGA is at work during the week, I'm usually sitting here alone at the BGA World Headquarters tapping away on BGA Daily, writing feature stories, or doing advance work on BGA Premium. But I'm not really alone. From the time I sit down at the keyboard until I head off to practice, good ol' Griff is either under the desk, or on the floor behind me. If I go downstairs to get something to nibble or drink he dutifully plods along behind me. He's always there. But for these couple of days he's not . . .  and I miss him.
