Game Week

For the first time in two years it is game week and with that BGA Premium welcomed back The Optimist and The Pessimist last night. True story. Some years ago a reader said she was considering having a hit taken out on The Pessimist. He's a fictional character so that wasn't really a concern but folks do have strong opinions about his strong opinions. You can read the back-and-forth between the guys on BGA Premium HERE.

Tris Wykes, like me a former Dartmouth beat writer for the local daily, has an uplifting story about Max Telemaque, the 5-foot-11, 265-pound senior offensive lineman who walked onto the Big Green and earned his spot on the team. Find the story headlined Dartmouth’s sawed-off center a shining example of persistance HERE.

Working on another project over the weekend I stumbled across a Wikipedia page about the Dartmouth-New Hampshire football rivalry that will resume on October 16. No idea who pulled this together but find the page HERE.

Yesterday's BGA Daily touched on the continuing struggles of the Patriot League. The Northeast Conference, meanwhile, is celebrating its first win over an FBS program after 23 consecutive losses. Duquesne did the honors with a 28-26 win over Ohio University.

EXTRA POINT
With a couple of assignments wrapping up I may have a chance to hop on the tractor and finish cutting my "back 40" before heading into practice today. At least that's the plan.

Here's hoping this is the last time I have to mow this year. All the rain this summer has been wonderful for gardens and farms but for the first time since we've lived here our lawn and the field just kept growing. And growing. And growing.

Too bad we can't share some of the rain with our friends out west.
