A New Name

Tweeting HERE that he is "110% committed" to Dartmouth is Dakota Quinonez, a 6-foot-1, 280-pound lineman from Byrnes High School in Duncan, S.C. Find his highlights HERE.

He posted this card from his Twitter account earlier this year. The reference to Coach Brooks suggests he's headed for the defensive line.

A Dartmouth-Penn football story in The Dartmouth includes this from linebacker Tanner Cross (LINK):

“We were talking about it all week: They tend to claim that they're the most aggressive team in the league, and that's something that we like to claim also. So being able to stick it to them in that game and limit the offense pretty significantly was definitely a good feeling.”

EXTRA POINT
When our kids were young they were fine if we left our dog with friends when we were going away for a weekend. What they did not like, however, was when no one could dog-sit and we had to leave the dog at the kennel. To make it easier for the kiddos, on those occasions when we had to bring the dog to the kennel we would tell them he was spending the weekend with his friend, "Ken L." They were fine with that.

We got back from Happy Valley early last evening in time to pick up Griff the Wonder Dog at "Ken L.'s" place. If you saw the way he greeted us when he came through the door it would have melted your heart. His little squeals of delight continued in the car the entire way home and, of course, he's back under the desk as I share his story. Welcome home, bud!
