The forecast for gametime today in Hanover is 52 degree and mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain.
Green Alert Take: When I was at the newspaper I'd always call the opposing coach at midweek to get a few thought about the game. If the game was on Memorial Field the coach would invariably ask about the weather forecast for Saturday afternoon in Hanover. My successors at the paper no longer call the opposing coach anymore, but my guess is that if they did the coach wouldn't feel the need to ask about the weather forecast. ;-)

The Valley News and the Cornell Daily Sun both have previews of today's game at Memorial Field spun out of Cornell's 20-17 upset of previously undefeated Dartmouth two years ago.
From our local paper (LINK):
Dartmouth head coach Buddy Teevens hasn’t brought up the 2019 matchup to the team much this week. He said his veterans are taking care of that for him.
“The players have talked about it more than I’ve talked about it and to me, that’s a good sign,” Teevens said. “They know what happened. Half the squad wasn’t here. The other half, they remember it.
From the Cornell student newspaper (LINK):
With the fifth-year player rule implemented as a result of the pandemic, (quarterback) Richie Kenney, who started in the upset win two years ago, has the opportunity to repeat history and spoil Dartmouth’s uncontested championship hopes.
But this is not the same Big Green team that the Red faced in 2019.
“Totally new batch of kids (at Dartmouth). We obviously are a very different team than two years ago,” (Cornell coach David) Archer said. “I think we just need to keep a very focused mindset on what we can control and know that we created a huge upset two years ago.”

Tris Wykes writes about the contribution of a former Hanover High School junior varsity pitching battery to the success of the Dartmouth football program on his Octopus Athletics site. The pitcher is now the Big Green's videographer and the catcher is the football equipment manager. (LINK)

And yes, it's Senior Day but don't expect much of a fuss. From BGA Premium for those of you who don't subscribe:
The Cornell game will be the final home appearance for the Big Green seniors but between the size of the COVID-swelled senior class, the uncertainty about which of the true seniors are returning, and his own feelings about pregame recognition ceremonies, (coach Buddy) Teevens is going to low-key it.
“We’re going to come out on Saturday morning and start the introductions,” he said with a laugh. “I am a minimalist when it comes to this. We appreciate the moms and dads and all, but it is game day. We will identify the guys, take a picture and wave to the crowd, and then we’re right into it. This is a huge game for us.”

EXTRA POINT
Is there a man alive who can get a drawstring that has pulled out of a pair of sweatpants back in place? Sure. Is there a man alive who will do it? Or will he toss them on the bed making sure the problem with the drawstring is obvious and then hope?
Thanks, Mrs. BGA (who also happens to be the world's best and most patient knot untangler).
