While it has been a bit surprising to some of us that more high-level offers haven't come the way of Dartmouth's entrants in the Transfer Portal Wars, Cornell offensive lineman Hunter Nourazad has pulled one in from Iowa, a school that knows something about offensive line play. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Nourazad was a first-team All-Ivy League selection this fall.

From the BGA Premium preseason look at Cornell:

Perhaps the biggest reason for offensive optimism in Ithaca this fall is a veteran offensive line anchored by 6-4, 313 senior tackle Hunter Nourazad, a second-team All-Ivy performer being
described as an NFL prospect.

Green Alert Take: I guess Nourazad trimmed down a little bit from the year before. As for those high-level offers, they could still be coming or may have already come and we haven't heard about them.

Grayson O'Bara, the Dartmouth-bound wide receiver from Texas featured here yesterday, had a 45-yard catch-and-run touchdown last night while helping Denton Guyer out to a 45-0 halftime lead and a 59-14 victory over Tomball in the 6A DII state semifinals. Guyer now faces a challenging championship game against powerhouse Austin Westlake in a rematch of the 2019  title game won by the Austin school, 24-0.

From a story in the Yale Daily News last week (LINK):

The Yale squash teams’ home matches against Drexel University were quietly pulled from the teams’ schedules last week, with no statement made publicly available by the Athletic Department.

Three sources with knowledge of the situation said that a member of the men’s squash team tested positive for COVID-19 last week prior to the canceled match against Drexel, originally scheduled for Dec. 4. Yale’s Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications Mike Gambardella did not comment on whether the cancellation of the Drexel match came in response to a Yale squash player testing positive, only noting that the two schools “rescheduled the match for a date in the future that better suited both teams.”

And . . .

The cancellation comes amid a recent rise in COVID-19 cases on Yale’s campus, as Dec. 1 also marks the day that the University announced a reversion in its COVID-19 alert level from “green” to “yellow,” signifying low to moderate risk.

The Yale women's basketball game yesterday was postponed for undisclosed reasons.

On the same note, VTDigger writes about Middlebury College moving both whatever classes are left and exams online because of a COVID outbreak at the elite Vermont school. (LINK)

EXTRA POINT
A couple of family things.

First and foremost, a happy, happy birthday to Mrs. BGA. Trust me, this site and the premium site would never have been started and certainly would not have lasted 17 years without her encouragement and her support.

And this. . .

As the grandson of a Naval Academy grad and the son of a Navy veteran I thoroughly enjoyed the Midshipmen defeating Army yesterday, 17-13, but think the description of the result as an upset is off the mark. Navy may be 4-8 and Army 8-4 but when these teams play there is no such thing as an upset. I've written this before but I often chuckle watching the game and thinking about my grandfather watching the game and turning his hearing aid off when Navy was losing.
