Chose Dartmouth over a preferred walk-on offer from his hometown Marshall Thundering Herd. Also had offers from Dayton and Morehead State. West Virginia Sports Writers Association Class AAA all-state selection. Considered one of the premier linemen in his class in West Virginia since his freshman season. Played three years at tackle before switching over as a senior and playing center. Chosen for the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl. Helped Huntington rebound from a losing season a year ago to go 13-0 before losing in the state championship game. Throws shot and discus on the track team. Coach Teevens: “Another guy we had in camp. That’s really a plus for us to have a guy you see on tape and then you have a chance to watch him. He’s a very, very power-ful and physically well-developed guy. He is one of those a little more stout and physically developed guys. We think that he will have an opportunity early. He’s kind of a wide-bodied kid we see on the inside.”
