Briefly

Barring a change, Dartmouth football is scheduled to hold the first of its 12 spring practices three weeks from today, on April 5. The spring "game" is tentatively slated for May 7.

In the past the usual Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday schedule would occasionally have to be adjusted because of snow or heavy rain. It will be interesting to see if that happens this year with the ability to move practice into The Green House.

As always BGA Premium will provide same-day coverage of every session.

Dartmouth and three of its opponents get mentions in a 10-question How Well Do You Know FCS Nicknames Quiz? Judging by how I did on the quiz, I guess I don't know it all that well. I got five right out of 10, and at least one of those was a total guess. Give it a shot HERE.

Penn, annually Dartmouth's first Ivy League opponent, has posted its 2022 schedule. The Quakers will open with Colgate and Lafayette before invading Hanover on Oct. 1. They will take on Georgetown a week later. Find Penn's full schedule HERE.

The Quakers finished last season 3-7 overall and 1-6 in the Ivy League with the lone victory in the Ancient Eight against Brown. Dartmouth handled Penn in Philadelphia, 31-7.

EXTRA POINT
Watching basketball over the weekend I saw two things on the tube that made me laugh. First was an NCAA bracket graphic that included a caution against betting. Uh huh. That's why even the NCAA posts an official bracket. So people won't fill it out and bet on the games, right?

The other thing that brought a chuckle was a commercial for a business concern that "connects consumers to financial advisors."

I can't decide whether the name was intended to be memorable or to make you laugh. I guess it worked both ways for me. The company is called SmartAsset.
