This is the first mention I've seen of Parrish Abramson, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound defensive back from Metairie, La.. This is from a Metairie Country Day School posting (LINK):
Parrish Abramson will continue playing football at Dartmouth College next season as a walk-on.
1980 ABC TV graphic |
Long before ESPN+ and ESPNU (and flashy graphics), Dartmouth football was appearing on ABC regional broadcasts as noted briefly in a story headlined, 'It changed the world.' How a 1984 Supreme Court decision still shapes college football. While Dartmouth is mentioned only in passing the story offers a pretty good history lesson (LINK):
(T)he lack of oversight over name, image and likeness; the free-for-all of the transfer portal; the never-ending merry-go-round of conference realignment, with schools chasing TV money — could be traced back to that Supreme Court ruling in 1984 . . .
Watch the quick 12-second promo for ABC's slate of games on Oct. 25, 1980 including the Dartmouth contest at Cornell:

Undrafted free agents have a small window of opportunity to show what they can do. Unfortunately for Dartmouth receiver/return specialist Drew Estrada '20, he has been sidelined in the Houston Texans' camp with an undisclosed leg injury per this report.

The media covering the Pitt football team preseason hasn't yet had a chance to see Dartmouth grad transfer Derek Kyler's quick release in action but one story after another is citing the outstanding numbers he put up for the Big Green. From Sharon Herald piece on the team's quarterbacks and running backs (LINK):
Along with (Steelers' first-round draft pick Kenny) Pickett, Pitt’s quarterback room lost two other players during the offseason when both Joey Yellen and Davis Beville transferred out of the program.
The room is rounded out by redshirt freshman Nate Yarnell, a 6-foot-6 quarterback from Austin, Texas, and graduate transfer Derek Kyler. Kyler played in 30 games during his time at Dartmouth, starting 20.
He owned an 18-2 record as a starter and completed 69.3% of his passes during his career, setting an Ivy League record. He threw for 4,409 yards, 42 touchdowns and six interceptions during his career.
Last season, Kyler led Dartmouth to a 9-1 record and an Ivy League championship. He completed 70.7% of his passes for the Big Green in 2021 while throwing for 1,972 yards, 17 touchdowns and just one interception.

EXTRA POINT
After going to the library and recycling yesterday morning Mrs. BGA and I stopped in at our Rockwell-esque general store to grab something to eat.
