Stay Tuned

The preseason poll conducted by the Ivy League is set to be released today and the expectation here is it could be an eye-opener. Stay tuned . . .

Just when we thought the Meet the Freshman series was wrapped up it is time to head overseas ;-).

This is Nico Schwikal, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound linebacker from Schönfeld, Germany who played last fall at Taft School and before that during a year of high school football in Weatherford, Texas as this video explains:

From a FanNation story headlined Virginia Football Fall Camp Observations - Week 1 (LINK):

Dartmouth transfer John Paul Flores is a near-lock to start on the O-Line, given the fact that he has essentially played at every spot on the offensive line at some point in his career. Flores has been getting a lot of praise from Tujague and his teammates for his versatility.

Speaking of Dartmouth grad transfers, former Big Green nickel John Pupel now has an updated bio and photo on the Boston College roster HERE.

Before the Ivy poll comes out, here's the Any Given Saturday preseason fan poll, which includes three Ivy schools in the Others Receiving Votes category but might just be missing one that should be included. While it is a fan poll, it gives an idea of what the rest of the nation thinks about the Ivy League. Find the accompanying story HERE.

EXTRA POINT
Mrs. BGA and I watched the new Ron Howard film Thirteen Lives last night and the story of the successful effort to extricate the trapped boys (and coach) of a Thai youth soccer team from a flooded cave is compelling even knowing how it ends.

Curious how and where they filmed the movie I learned that it was boiled down from a whopping 382 hours of footage.
