Thinking about heading to NYC for the Dartmouth game at Columbia this weekend? Lots of helpful information about driving, parking, public transportation, where to eat and what to do at the northern tip of New England York in Jake Novak's The Fan's Guide to Game Day at Columbia: 2022 on the Roar Lions blog. Find the game day information entry HERE.
A couple of tips from Jake:
You can park very close to the stadium at many of the parking garages within 1-6 blocks of Baker. Most of them are on 10th Avenue between 205th and 215th Streets.
They are all around the stadium now, especially on 10th Avenue. FYI: in the past, parking has cost fans about $15 for the whole game.
And here's a tip from me: If you get to the stadium early, take a walk around the Inwood neighborhood on the Baker Field side of Broadway. You'll see some very nice homes and if you are lucky, as we were the last time we went to Columbia, you'll find one road closed and a lively farmer's market. For the adventurous, Inwood Hill Park is a wonderful, peaceful hike in the woods within easy walking distance of the stadium. It's a real eye-opener.

Don't hold your breath but this is from a story in the Stamford Advocate (LINK):
(W)hen Congress allowed the Ivy League’s antitrust exemption to expire a couple of weeks ago, it potentially set a path for major change in the conference. Namely, the possibility of Ivy League schools giving out athletic scholarships.
The Daily Princetonian follows that story with a piece headlined Athletic recruitment could face instability as antitrust exemption expires. From the story (LINK):
The future of athletic financial aid in the Ivy League is up in the air as Congress allowed a congressional antitrust exemption to expire last Friday, Sept. 30. The exemption permitted the Ivy League to unilaterally ban merit-based athletic scholarships without being in violation of antitrust law. Without such protection, the Ivy League could be vulnerable to lawsuits if its eight members continue their no merit scholarship policy.
ESPN had a short story on the topic HERE under the headline, Congress allows Ivy League antitrust exemption to expire.

EXTRA POINT
We were watching the thrilling Chiefs-Bills game yesterday when our neighbor up the hill cruised by the side of our property on an ATV. He was dressed in camo and carried his hunting bow. Turns out it is turkey season. No idea if he got one or even saw one, but if he had a driveway alarm it might help. Our alarm went off this morning and Griff the Wonder Dog, who always goes to the door or window when it beeps, led me to this sight. All totaled there were 11 turkeys nibbling on what passes as our lawn.
