A Look Back

From Dartmouth football's social media:

The Ithaca Times has a story that pretty much reprises the play-by-play HERE.

The win over Cornell closed out the Big Green's home schedule. Here are this year's home attendance figures:

4,188 - Columbia (Homecoming)
3,641 - Lehigh
2,880 - Yale
2,530 - Cornell
2,526 - Princeton

The average attendance at Memorial Field this fall: 3,153.

Home attendance last 10 seasons:

2013 - 5,807
2014 - 5,549
2015 - 6,660
2016 - 5,638
2017 - 5,512
2018 - 4,007

Here's your weekly Sagarin report with the current rating and (last week's rating in parentheses):

146 - Yale  (146)
156 - Harvard (149)
179 - Princeton (179)
180 - Penn (183)
181 - Dartmouth (182)
198 - Brown (202)
205 - Columbia (205)
212 - Cornell (212)

149 - New Hampshire (157)
207 - Colgate (216)
234 - Lehigh (229)

For those who are wondering, Sagarin has Dartmouth as a 3-point favorite at Brown Saturday and Yale as a 5-point favorite over Harvard at Yale Bowl. Should he have it right, Dartmouth, Harvard and Yale would share the title with 5-2 conference records. It would mark just the third time in Ivy League history that teams with two losses have won the championship and each time the Big Green would have won a share.

Should Dartmouth and Harvard win the Crimson would be the champion at 6-1, Dartmouth would finish alone in second place at 5-2 and there would be a logjam at 4-3.

Should Yale win and Dartmouth lose, Harvard and Yale would share the title at 5-2 and  the Big Green would finish in a three-way tie for third along with Brown and the winner of the Princeton-Penn game.

EXTRA POINT
It's a gorgeous, blue-sky morning and with the temperature expected to top out near 40 degrees today and no practice to attend it's as good a day as we may have to shift junk around in our unheated garage to make room for the '84 VW poptop camper. If we get enough accomplished I'll hop behind the wheel of the VW, back it in and jockey it back and forth until I get it facing side-to-side in the back of the garage. Trust me when I tell you it's no fun in a four-speed with no power steering to keep inching it forward, cutting the wheel, inching it back, cutting the wheel over and over and over. But what has to be done, has to be done.
