Lindy's Says . . .

Lindy's, one of the last remaining national publications to give any thought to the FCS, published its Ivy League football projection for the 2024 season last month and it came out this way:

1. Yale
2. Princeton
3. Harvard
4. Dartmouth
5. Penn
6. Brown
7. Columbia
8. Cornell

Green Alert Take: In a league where some think quarterback may be even more important than in other conferences, it's a surprise Lindy's has a Princeton team that graduated a talented, two-year starting QB who earned an invitation to the Philadelphia Eagles minicamp slotted second coming off a 5-5 (4-3) season.

Green Alert Take II:  If I'm Dartmouth the perfect place to be picked might be third (although fourth is OK). It's high enough that it shows respect for the recent history of the program, but low enough that it gives you hungry team little extra incentive to prove the "experts" got it wrong.

Huge thanks to the loyal reader who has shared Lindy's picks for the Ivy League (and others) the past few years.

EXTRA POINT
We drove 13 miles last evening to "pizza night," under glorious blue skies at a local farm. When darkness fell and the music stopped we loaded Griff the Wonder Dog in the car and headed home. I couldn't help but notice on the entire 25-minute drive back to our Vermont hillside we encountered just one other set of headlights. That was it. They were behind us for perhaps five minutes before turning off.
