Nailed It

If you've watched Josiah Green play you know HERO made the right Ivy League choice in a piece headlined The Best Returning 2024 FCS Interior Defensive Lineman In Each Conference (LINK):

IVY
Josiah Green, Dartmouth, Sr.
2023 STAT LINE: 46 tackles, 7.5 TFLs
Green has been a key contributor for two years, going on three now. An All-Ivy League performer, he has one brother who played at Brigham Young, and his twin brother Micah who is also with Dartmouth as a linebacker. Green is a classic nose guard.

Green Alert Take: The editor in me desperately wants to delete the part about "for two years, going on three now." Duh.

Find Green's Dartmouth bio HERE.

Dartmouth will face another honoree in its opener:

PATRIOT
Sam Buerkle, Fordham, Jr.

2023 STAT LINE: 35 tackles, 4.5 TFLs, 4 fumble recoveries
Buerkle has certainly been noticed within the Patriot League, with most of those highlights coming last year as a sophomore. This Ohio native led the team with four fumble recoveries and started all 11 games at defensive tackle.

EXTRA POINT
It's officially the Lyme Country Store but to a lot of people it will always be Pat and Tony's, in honor of the Pippins, huge supporters and friends of Dartmouth athletics for decades. I've been to the store one town north of Hanover a million times and never noticed something until last week.

Here's the store:

And here's what I noticed on the wooden bench on the store's porch:

If that's a little hard to read, it says:

IN LOVING MEMORY OF

DARTMOUTH COLLEGE ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH 1966-1986
FATHER, OUTDOORSMAN FRIEND
