Now, here's your Ivy League weekend wrap . . .

Columbia 31, No. 14 Lafayette 20
Sophomore quarterback Chase Goodwin was 16-for-19 for 180 yards and two touchdowns before leaving with an injury. The win in front of 3,592 in New York City was Columbia's first over a top-15 team since a 1995 victory over Penn. Lafayette, the preseason favorite to win the Patriot League, is now 2-2.

Yale 38, Holy Cross  31
Yale drove 64 yards in nine plays for the winning touchdown on a three-yard run with 12 seconds left. Yale scored first on an 81-yard drive and every Bulldog point was countered by the Crusaders with the same number of points until time ran out on the home team. Consequently there were five ties in the contest, played before 15,117 in the rain in Worcester.

Harvard 35, Stetson 0
The Crimson limited the visitors to 16 yards on the ground, 101 yards of total offense and just 1-of-15 on third down in a complete walk-over. Jaden Craig threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns in front of 4,488 in Cambridge. Stetson, whose wins came over sub-FCS teams, fell to 2-2.

Brown 26, Georgetown  14
Jake Willcox hit Solomon Miller with a 87-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the game but the Bears were still clinging to a six-point lead until a 61-yard drive brought an insurance touchdown with 1:14 left in the third quarter. The Hoyas slipped to 2-2 before a crowed of 2,135 in the District of Columbia.

Lehigh 35, Princeton 20
Three interceptions and six Lehigh sacks that left Princeton with negative seven yards rushing helped spell the difference. Blaine Hippa was just 16-of-38 in his first start at quarterback for the Tigers while Blaine McCallister was 0-2  behind center. The game drew 6,217 to Bethlehem, Pa., as Princeton must have at least tied an NCAA record with having two Blaines at QB in the same game.

Delaware 29, Penn 22
The Quakers carried a 16-6 lead into halftime, fell behind 21-16 and came back to take a 22-21 lead midway fourth quarter only to see Delaware drive 75 yards for the winning TD with 1:44 left. Malachi Hosley rushed for 176 yards for the Quakers. Delaware improved to 3-0 before 17,848 at Delaware Stadium.

Colgate 41, Cornell 24
Jameson Wang threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns and led the Big Red with 41 yards rushing. Cornell had a 17-10 lead early in the second quarter before Colgate ran off 24 straight points. The game drew 2,984 to Hamilton, N.Y..

Elsewhere, Dartmouth Week 2 opponent Merrimack lost to Maine, 26-15, and Week 5 opponent Central Connecticut led FBS Massachusetts most of the way before falling, 35-31.

EXTRA POINT
If Dartmouth opening the season yesterday wasn't hint enough that we were close, know that today is officially the first day of fall. The good news is that I can probably get away with just one more mowing of our six acres. The bad news, which Mrs. BGA regretfully points out, is that the anticipated glorious fall foliage season appears to be a dud. Lots of rust color out there right now but precious little red. Because there's still substantial green on the trees, there's always hope but but time will tell.
