Laurent spent the 2025 season at Ohio State as the assistant tight ends coach, helping the Buckeyes to a 12-1 record and advancing to the CFP Semifinals.
“I’m extremely excited to add Wendy to our offensive staff,” Rahne said. “He is one of the brightest young coaches in our profession and yet still has a wealth of experience. I look forward to him taking our tight end play to the next level.”Prior to joining the Buckeyes, Laurent spent three seasons coaching tight ends at Dartmouth College. Prior to that, he was a graduate assistant coach for two seasons – 2020 and 2021 – at his alma mater, Penn State. He also has worked at the University of Buffalo, where he was an offensive line graduate assistant coach in 2019.Laurent played in 34 games as a Nittany Lion between 2012-16, including starting eight games at center.
Green Alert Take: When Buddy Teevens hired Wendy Laurent, he noted similarities with Cortez Hankton, who Teevens also hired for Dartmouth as a young coach. Interestingly, Laurent leaves Ohio State just as Hankton arrives in Columbus from LSU as the Buckeyes' new wide receivers coach. (LINK)
Loop finished with 814 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns as a senior despite battling injuries early on.
“George is one of the more diverse receivers I’ve ever had,” (Coach Aaron) Vice said. “With his ability to adapt and move around, his best football is still ahead of him."
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound loop is the second Newman receiver in recent years to head to Hanover. He was preceded by Jarmone Sutherland '24, one of Arch Manning's favorite targets at Newman.
Also pictured is the 6-2, 300-pound Jackson, who will play at Cornell.

EXTRA POINT
The missing ornament was one of a series, and it would have been easy to not notice it was missing when we hauled the tree away. Except, while the ornaments are all the same shape, the top of each is different, and they fit only in the box in which they came. Which is why after pulling all the ornaments down and boxing them up, we knew the 1995 edition of our special Royal Copenhagen ornaments was missing.
I'm happy to report after some serious searching the ornament was found and is safely back in its box, awaiting next year's tree. The Royal Copenhagen ornaments were gifts from my mother – who was born and raised in Copenhagen – and losing one of them would have been heartbreaking.
